Technology was considerably different a century ago, but it has affected many individuals over the ages, and as technology improves, it continues to have a significant impact on our lives today.

There are thousands of technology today. However, in this post, I’ll be sharing with you 10 examples of technology in our everyday lives that is both familiar and beneficial.

Let’s get to it:

A smartphone is a mobile phone that has many of the characteristics of a computer, such as a touchscreen interface, an Internet connection, and an operating system that can run downloadable programs.

It is a type of cell phone that can do more than just make phone calls or send text messages.

It’s also a media player, and gaming device, and has a unique camera, a document editor, and many more.

Many people nowadays like to have their smartphone since it is highly useful and convenient to carry because it is a handheld electronic gadget. It can easily fit into your pocket or bag.

Smartphones are incredibly useful in communication today since they allow users to instantly communicate with others all around the world. It can also be used in an emergency to request assistance.

2. Internet

The Internet is a global network of interconnected computer networks that service billions of people worldwide by utilizing the standard Internet protocol suite.

It enables computers and other devices to talk with one another as well as access and share information and resources.

The internet has been the most valuable tool of the present era, assisting us not only in our everyday lives but also in the growth of our personal and professional life.

The most significant advantage that the internet provides is undoubtedly information. The internet has a wealth of information on virtually any subject, including government services, shopping, cooking ideas, and technical help.

The internet also amuses both children and adults. It allows you to access a large variety of audio/video music and movies.

Many of them are available for download. YouTube is one such well-known website.

3. Vehicles

Vehicles are one of the greatest inventions of human technology. For more than a century, the private vehicle has transformed contemporary life by enabling independence and mobility.

Because of the rising distances between home, work, schools, shopping, and recreational facilities, mobility is becoming increasingly crucial.

Who would like to walk for more than an hour if you can do it in only 20 minutes?

Airplanes, ships, trains, automobiles, and bicycles are examples of common vehicles. It is a machine with an engine that transports people from one location to another. Vehicles can also be utilized for emergency services such as firetrucks and ambulances.

It is extremely difficult to participate fully in social and economic life without access to transportation.

People who live in remote and rural places would have to spend a significant amount of time merely to get to their destination.

4. Computers

The modern computer has become an indispensable component of our daily lives. Furthermore, their popularity has skyrocketed during the previous decade. Nowadays, computers are used in every office, private or public.

A computer is the most well-known electronic instrument for data collection. It also processes data according to a set of rules and creates/stores data.

In the past, computers were massive and were used in major corporations to collect and calculate data.

Today, computers are significantly smaller and more portable. They are even more powerful and can handle a wide range of tasks.

A computer is made up of various pieces, including the CPU, memory, motherboard, storage devices, monitor, and many more.

Every component of a computer has a specific purpose and omitting one would complicate matters.

5. Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence, often known as machine intelligence, is intelligence exhibited by machines as opposed to natural intelligence demonstrated by humans and other animals.

It is intended to do activities like a normal human would do such as voice recognition, learning, and problem-solving.

Today’s most prevalent AI-powered goods are self-driving vehicles, AI robots, smart speakers, email spam filters, and Apple Siri which you ask a question and it answers for you.

The potential advantages of AI are endless, and despite many worries, it still has enormous potential in the future.

Many businesses are already implementing AI technology to improve their supply-chain operations.

AI is also particularly valuable in the manufacturing business since it can decrease human mistakes, has minimal hazards, and can do repetitive tasks without harming product quality.

6. Smart Television

Smart TVs have been around for how many years, but they are smarter now.

Smart televisions have transformed the way we view movies and entertainment. The design and features of televisions have also evolved.

Smart TVs give a better atmosphere for watching TV shows as well as internet clips, movies, gaming, and surfing. Based on my experience, Smart TVs are more interactive.

Most of the companies today that produces televisions are shifting to Smart TVs. They believe with the trend that every television must be smart.

However, not all smart TVs are the same, and not every smart TV platform or operating system supports the same apps and functionalities.

7. Robotics

When talking about robots, we often imagine movies like transformers or science fiction. However, robots are becoming part of our daily lives and they even surround us.

Our world is occupied by robots that can communicate with us, do what we want, and even solve complex problems.

Robots are present during automation which only handle specific tasks with no other features. These robots can be seen in our homes such as dishwashers and washing machines.

We also have programmable automated robots, this started when people began programming machines to perform various activities. It is adaptable with the help of computer controls.

The next one is autonomous robots which are becoming popular today because it’s capable of decision-making capability.

This implies it can do tasks that people have historically done. Animals and humans are examples of existent autonomous systems.

8. Automated Teller Machines (ATM)

An automated teller machine (ATM) is a computerized telecommunications equipment that allows financial institution clients to conduct financial transactions in public without the assistance of a human clerk or bank teller.

As you can see, most modern ATMs today merely ask you to slide your plastic ATM card into the machine.

It comprises a unique number and information that the machine will recognize and allow you to deposit or withdraw money.

ATMs of today are technical wonders, with many capable of receiving deposits as well as a variety of other financial services.

There are several advantages to using an ATM, including the opportunity to access your account 24/7 at various places, greater customer service, reduced charges, and the ease of driving through an ATM, which makes it safer.

9. Drones

The term drone is usually referred to as unmanned aerial vehicles. These crafts are capable of performing a wide range of duties, including military and rescue missions, emergency response, and package delivery.

Drones may range in size from an airplane to the palm of your hand. These drones are controlled by an individual from the ground.

Drones have increased in popularity in recent years because, unlike human aircraft, they can stay in the air for extended periods. It is also secure because it does not require an operator to run it inside.

Drones’ capacity to fly, carry an object, and be programmed to do a range of activities has made this technology life-changing in many ways.

Drones benefited a lot of businesses and individuals. Drones will continue to develop over the next decade, and we will see them in the skies more frequently, like a swarm of bees.

Final Thoughts

The examples I offered have an impact on people’s daily lives and influence how they behave. There are many more examples of technology, but they are most likely connected to the categories I presented.

Modern technology will continue to advance with the aid of innovators’ inventive ideas. Expect more in the future about what technology will astound the globe.
